| 慕田峪长城，位于北京怀柔区境内，据文献考证，此段长城是在北齐长城遗址上由明初朱元璋手下大将徐达督造而成。2001年先后通过ISO9002国际质量管理体系、ISO14001国际环境管理体系认证，并被国家旅游局评为“四A”级旅游景区。慕田峪长城旅游区群山环抱，风景秀丽，春季，群芳射蕊，争奇斗妍；夏季，满山青翠，流水潺潺；秋季，果实累累，红叶满山；冬季，白雪皑皑，银装素裹，一派北国风光,在中外享有“万里长城慕田峪独秀”的美誉。
慕田峪长城旅游区投资3000多万元，在旅游区内修建了“中华梦石城”和“长城山庄”。“中华梦石城”参照苏州园林的建筑风格，并在园中珍藏了来自全国各地的奇石精品。“长城山庄”座落于雄伟的长城脚下，整个山庄装修为仿古建筑群，与古老的长城融为一体。山庄内设有标准客房、餐厅、桑拿等设施，可同时容纳100人食宿。2001年，经国家旅游局批准为二星级宾馆。
慕田峪长城旅游区内服务设施齐备，功能完善。登城缆车、古关旅行社、农贸市场等,可以为游客提供全方位的服务。游客可以在宣武门、东四十条乘坐游6路，还可以在东直门乘916路直达旅游区。慕田峪长城旅游区以其雄伟的长城，秀丽的景色，优质的服务，欢迎国内外游客的光临。
慕田峪长城西接居庸关，东连古北口，为京师北门黄花镇的东段，自古被称为拱卫京师、皇陵的北方屏障，而慕田峪关更是明代拥护京师和投井下石陵的重要关口之一。（《长安客话》卷七·关镇杂志）记载：“居庸关、黄花镇、边城、慕田峪、灰岭口具系冲地，虽宣、蓟为之屏障，紫荆藉以身援，然外而扼控要害，内而拥护京陵，干系至重”。
慕田峪长城为明代初期开国大元帅徐达（曾被封为中山王，也被称为中山）指挥所建。据《同治十二年迁安县志》记载：“明初，徐中山筑边城墙，自山海关西抵慕田峪,一千七百余里，边防可云密矣。”“慕田峪关，永乐二年建”。
Mutianyu Great Wall
Mutianyu Great Wall,located in Huairou Distrisct,is one of Beijing"s 16 new scenic spots.It starts from Juyong Pass on the west and reaches Gubeikou on the east.Battlements are seen on the 2,250-metre-long wall.On Zhengguantai,three watching towers stand side by side.The main tourist attraction in cludes Guanjiankou,Niujiaobian and Yingfeidaoyang on the west part of the section.Mutianyu Great Wall snakes on the high mountains,whose vegetation coverage reaches over 90 per cent.Tourists will see blossoming flowers in spring,flowing streams in summer,red leaves in autumn and white snow in winter.Mutianyu is considered by Chi nese and foreign tourists as the best part of the Great Wall.
On Mutianyu Great Wall,some new fa cilities have been set up such as cable-way and ski track.The China Dream Stone City is a combination of the "Great Wall culture" and the "stone cul ture." Many foreign top leaders have visited Mutianyu Great Wall.Among them are John Major,former prime min ister of Britain,and Bill Clinton,former president of the United States.
